HIGHLIGHTS:

A White-winged Black Tern graced Watermead CP (21st-22nd). A Gannet at Thornton Reservoir (21st-26th) sadly died.

CHARNWOOD:

Cropston Reservoir had a Marsh Harrier (29th), six Greenshank­s (28th), six Green Sandpipers (28th), six Common Sandpipers (21st), a Med Gull (14th), four Black Terns (28th) and four Redstarts (21st). A Marsh Harrier flew over Charnwood Lodge (14th).

EYEBROOK RESERVOIR:

Waders included four Ruff (15th), a Little Stint (18th-20th), four Greenshank­s (19th) and six Black-tailed Godwits (9th). A Marsh Harrier was seen regularly (1st-19th). There was a Great White Egret (6th), Black Tern (28th) and two Whinchats (27th).

SOAR VALLEY:

A Marsh Harrier flew over Syston (10th). Cossington Meadows had a Garganey (21st) and Greenshank (30th). Ten Green Sandpipers were at Wanlip Meadows (13th), along with a Ruff (17th) and Greenshank (14th-17th).

OTHER SITES:

There were 33 Yellow-legged Gulls at Albert Village Lake. A Marsh Harrier was at Shawell (28th). A Pied Flycatcher was on Croft Hill (21st). At least 10 migrant Redstarts passed through five sites. Steve Lister (01509 829 495, www.lros.org.uk )
