SHROPSHIRE

HIGHLIGHTS:

A Bar-tailed Godwit was at Venus Pool (27th). Ospreys flew over Nesscliffe (8th), Venus Pool (17th) and Wood Lane (27th). A Marsh Harrier was at Knighton Reservoir (15th). A Wryneck was in an Alveley garden (31st). A churring Nightjar was reported in farmland at Maesbury (15th).

VENUS POOL:

Wader maxima included three Black-tailed Godwits (8th), two Green Sandpipers (27th), regular Greenshank and Common Sandpiper, Redshanks (9th & 11th), a Ruff (25th) and Little Ringed Plover (15th). There were four Little Egrets (23rd). Two Med Gulls were regular. A Common Tern and Black Terns were logged (28th).

OTHER SITES:

A Ring-necked Parakeet was in a Newport garden (14th). Three Whimbrels flew over Much Wenlock (21st). Chelmarsh Reservoir logged an Arctic Tern and Black Terns (25th), and a Med Gull, Little Egret and Hobby (30th). A Hen Harrier was at Whixall Moss (31st).
