Rough-legged Buzzard

-

As many as 150 arrive from Scandinavia some autumns, generally wintering around southern and eastern coasts. Broadly similar to our own Buzzard, but has longer wings, a blacktipped white tail, a pale head, and a habit of hovering regularly and well – our native Buzzard looks clumsy by comparison.
