1The walk starts at the north-eastern end of the tidal road be­fore head­ing north to join part of the Avon Es­tu­ary cir­cu­lar walk, which in­cludes the cu­ri­ous­ly­named green lane, Drunk­ards’ Hill. Lis­ten for Buz­zard mew­ing over­head and Grey Wag­tail near the wa­ter.

2The lane lead­ing through Fox­hole to­wards Big­bury is likely to yield Goldfinch, Yel­lowham­mer, Blue and Great Tit among other gar­den species.

Field and wood­land paths lead back to­wards the Avon Es­tu­ary. Look for wood­peck­ers.

3 4Descend­ing to the es­tu­ary, the views are su­perb. Lis­ten for Oys­ter­catcher and Curlew on the wa­ter be­low. Once at mud­flat level there is much to see, in­clud­ing Green­shank, Lit­tle Egret, Grey Heron, Shel­duck, San­der­ling, Dun­lin and Ringed Plover.
