100 wintering Great White Egrets remained, including at least 25 in the Chew Valley/blagdon areas until at least 17th. Glossy Ibises were seen at Wat Tyler CP and elsewhere in Essex throughout, Cossington Meadows LWT, (Leics) on at least 12th-23rd, and in Ely (Cambs) from 15th. Desert Wheatear, Cley, Norfolk, 28 October sighted at Buckton (East Yorks) on 3rd-4th, Spurn Point and environs on 5th-7th, Grainthorp­e Haven south to Tetney and Donna Nook (Lincs) on 8th-17th and back to Welwick (East Yorks) from 18th-30th and another suppressed bird at Needs Ore Point (Hampshire) from 6th-13th. An American Coot was discovered at Loch nam Feithean, Balranald RSPB, North Uist (Outer Hebrides) on 11th, remaining until at least 6th December, while the Purple Gallinule (Swamphen) at Alkborough Flats NR (North Lincs) was last reported on 17th just prior to wintry weather.
