It may seem a bold move to run a moth trap in your garden this month, but milder nights can see a trickle – if not a flood – of interestin­g moths. Typical lepidopter­an visitors in February include Pale Brindled Beauty and Chestnut, but my sneaky favourite is the Common Quaker.
