The train drops you at Ryde pier­head, where the ferry re­turns you to Portsmouth Har­bour sta­tion. Buses serve Bembridge and St He­lens WHERE TO PARK: As it’s a cir­cuit, you could park in sev­eral places, at the wind­mill as sug­gested or on Laun­dry Lane at SZ 621 883, or in St He­lens at SZ 629 884, or even in Bembridge it­self, where park­ing is a bit tricky TER­RAIN: More than three miles of public foot­path and lane, some cau­tious road edge. Pre­dom­i­nantly flat, of­ten muddy AC­CES­SI­BIL­ITY: The down­hill sec­tion from the wind­mill to SZ 630 872 can be thick mud af­ter pro­tracted rain. Take a stick!
