Bird Watching (UK)

KEY POINTS

-

1 Park down by the river just past the visitor centre. Look over the river for any signs of water birds and the view back to the historic mills.

2 Walk along the footpath listening for bird song and checking the flora for signs of spring and your first butterflies. Then walk past the hydroelectric plant which is at Bonnington.

3 Search the mature trees for warblers, with a great chance of Wood Warbler. Scan the crags along the river for any signs of falcons.

4 In winter, check for tit flocks to look for any signs of Nuthatch or Treecreeper. These woods are full of fungi in autumn, so try photographing them so you can ID them later.
