Bird Watching (UK)

KEY POINTS

-

1 A new visitor centre is a great addition to this expanding reserve run by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.

2 There are several hides around the reserve with views over carr and reedbeds, so look out for Kingfisher, Water Rail and the elusive Bittern.

3 The extended area of Huxterwell Marsh has made the reserve a real draw, with new breeding birds and six hides to view the 180 acres,

4 Look out for species of grebes in the many waterways and especially where the gulls protect the rare Black-necked Grebe.

5 Willow Marsh is well named as bird feeders here may give you a view of Willow Tit. Listen out for Bearded Tits as you pass the many reedbeds.
