A new visitor centre is a great addition to this expanding reserve run by Yorkshire Wildlife Trust.
There are several hides around the reserve with views over carr and reedbeds, so look out for Kingfisher, Water Rail and the elusive Bittern.
The extended area of Huxterwell Marsh has made the reserve a real draw, with new breeding birds and six hides to view the 180 acres,
Look out for species of grebes in the many waterways and especially where the gulls protect the rare Black-necked Grebe.
Willow Marsh is well named as bird feeders here may give you a view of Willow Tit. Listen out for Bearded Tits as you pass the many reedbeds.
