CORN BUNTING HOPE
As always, I greatly enjoyed Bo Beolens’ column in the January issue (I’m a grumpy old birder, too). I’m a bit ashamed to admit my wish bird, since I figure everyone else has probably seen them, but I still haven’t managed to connect with Corn Bunting. I certainly hope 2017 will be the year. I’d also like to put a plug in for Brussels as a city for one of David Lindo’s next Urban Birder articles. The presence of a lot of protected green spaces and the Forêt de Soignes to the south of the city really make for some exciting birdwatching; we even have Black and Middle Spotted Woodpeckers, and Crested Tits breeding within the city limits!
