Bird Watching (UK)

KEY POINTS

-

1 Park in Ardersier and walk along the beach scanning Ardersier Bay as you go. Listen out for alarm calls in spring and summer, so as not to spend time by breeding waders.

2 Check the scrub around the shore for breeding and passage migrants. Finches and buntings are possible along with feeding terns along the water.

3 Enter the fort or at low tide and if there are no red flags you can walk around the base of the fort. Always look out for the dolphins and sea passage.

4 Look out into the Firth for winter diving ducks and divers. All four species of diver have been seen in the area.

5 Look out for waders along the beach and also feeding birds at low tide. Walk back via Adam Road and back by the beach.
