WAY MARKERS

-

1 From the car park, follow the track round the common checking for Whitethroat, Linnet, Willow Warbler or Yellowhammer. Also a possible Barn Owl, Woodcock or Grasshopper Warbler, though the latter is irregular, and Snipe.

2 Then follow the track southwards through the edge of Wessington Pasture to check for Dunnock. Wren, Blackbird, Blue, Great and Coal Tit, Song Thrush and Robin but also be aware of a hunting Sparrowhawk. Check the scrub layers for Garden Warbler and the sky for Buzzard.

3 And across more open country where Sky Larks hover above and, of course, look for the Buzzard and Kestrel.

4 Finally, follow the track up the valley between Haugh and Rudge woods with lots of possibilities, such as the resident Chaffinch, Bullfinch and all three woodpeckers for you to see.
