OTHER SURREY WATERWAYS: Beddington SF had a Glaucous Gull (15th-21st), Iceland Gull (18th-25th), a Caspian Gull (22nd), with two (25th), and 100 Snipe plus five Jack Snipe (28th). Pennymead Lake in East Horsley held a Red-breasted Merganser and 16 Goosanders. four Firecrests in private gardens in Frimley. Waxwings were seen at several sites, maximum 17 at Hale (26th).

LONDON WETLAND CENTRE: Six Black-tailed Godwits flew through (3rd). A Bittern, Brent Goose, Jack Snipe, Pintail, Shelduck and Water Pipit were noted.

STAINES RESERVOIRS: A Slavonian Grebe was at Staines for most of the month. Other bird records included Black-necked Grebe, Brent Goose, Goldeneye, Pintail, Scaup and Water Pipit.

OTHER SITES: Great Grey Shrikes were at Farnham Heath, Frensham Common, Thursley Common, and Old Dean Common (6th). Four Hawfinches were in Effingham Forest (14th).
