HIGH­LIGHTS: Dolydd Hafren held a Bit­tern (from 8th), pos­si­bly the one seen at Llyn Coed y Di­nas last month. The Bearded Tit re­mained (to 15th). There were seven Goosanders, a Man­darin, Lit­tle Grebe, Wa­ter Rail, 55 Wi­geon, 40 Curlews and four Oys­ter­catch­ers. Llyn Coed y Di­nas (21st) had four Pochards, seven Shov­el­ers, 26 Tufted Ducks, 14 Wi­geon, 15 Lap­wings and 16 Snipe, with a Pin­tail (25th). Hen Har­ri­ers were at Cors Dyfi and Carno. Two Man­darins were re­ported from a gar­den stream which sep­a­rates Montgomeryshire from Shrop­shire – they were said to be closer to the Montgomeryshire bank! Two Tree Spar­rows were in an­other gar­den. The writer’s gar­den held 12 Siskins and six Lesser Red­polls. Waxwings re­mained. Sev­eral Chif­fchaffs, a Dip­per and Grey Wag­tail were at Pwll Pe­narth. Bray­ton Holt
