HIGHLIGHTS: A Bittern was at Woodstock Ponds Betws (1st-22nd). Eight Waxwings were at Cefn Ila near Usk (13th-28th). NEWPORT WETLANDS: There were 1,200 Lapwings (1st), with two Marsh Harriers (19th), a Hen Harrier (28th) and a Scaup (19th). OTHER SITES: Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers were at Malpas (2nd) and Chepstow (13th). Seven Water Pipits were at Sluice Farm/ Peterstone (13th). Four Bewick’s Swans were at Llangybi (13th). A Scaup was at Peterstone Gout (16th-19th). A Yellow-legged Gull was in Newport (19th). A Willow Tit was at Wentwood (20th). A Hawfinch was at Caldicot Castle (21st). Chris Hatch
