GREATER MANCHESTER
HIGHLIGHTS: A Caspian Gull was at Audenshaw Reservoirs (10th & 14th) and Shaw (12th). There were 39 Whooper Swans at Audenshaw Reservoirs (13th) and two at Rumworth Lodge (14th). A Glaucous Gull was in Haydock (14th). MERSEY VALLEY: A Little Egret was on Sinderland Brook (14th). Three Bramblings were on Carrington Moss. Nine Ring-necked Parakeets were at Chorlton WP. ELTON RESERVOIR: A Scaup remained (to 5th). A Rock Pipit and Stonechat were seen (19th). Two Little Egrets were in the area. A Brambling was at the feeders (7th-11th and 25th-28th). A Woodcock was seen (13th). PENNINGTON FLASH: The Long-tailed Duck and five Scaup remained. Two Iceland Gulls roosted. Four Med Gulls and two Yellow-legged Gulls were seen. Three Little Egrets were regular, with a Brambling and Woodcock (11th). OTHER SITES: Waxwings included 64 in Stockport, 51 in Hazel Grove, 50 at Hyde, 40 in Droylsden, 40 in Bolton, 40 in Stalybridge, 27 in Bredbury, 25 at Woods Moor, 22 in Walkden, 20 at Gorton Reservoirs and 20 in Mossley. Audenshaw Reservoirs had two Long-tailed Ducks, two Scaup, Iceland Gull (27th) and Yellow-legged Gull. Four Scaup were at Rumworth Lodge (22nd) and one at Moses Gate CP (27th). A Pintail was at Rumworth Lodge (13th), with three Stonechats (24th-25th) and Med Gulls (17th & 27th), with three (25th). An Iceland Gull was at Cutacre CP, Bolton (4th & 18th) and Gorton Reservoirs (28th). Two Lesser Spotted Woodpeckers were at Dunham Massey. Six Crossbills flew over Horwich Moors (24th). A Corn Bunting was on Irlam Moss with a Brambling in the area. A Stonechat was on Astley Moss (22nd). Dr Paul Brewster (01606 590491)
