RAMSONS

In a damp, shady woodland, particularly flanking a river, close your eyes and inhale. Your nose might detect the heady (some might say pungent) odour of a dense swathe of Ramsons (aka Wild Garlic) emanating from ankle height. Delicate flowers shaped into a long oval are part of a pulse of white blooms that illuminate our landscapes.
