HIGH­LIGHTS: Gar­ganeys were at Marazion (20th-30th), Walm­s­ley (21st-23rd) and Swan­pool (26th). A Lesser Scaup was on Doz­mary (1st) and then on Si­bly­back (21st-28th). A White Stork flew over Pen­zance (21st). Cat­tle Egrets were wide­spread. A Night Heron was around St Ives (8th). A Pur­ple Heron vis­ited In­dian Queens (18th) and Crousa Downs (19th-23rd). A Great White Egret was at Crousa Downs (5th), Sen­nen (6th) and Am­ble Marshes (7th). The Hayle Spoon­bill re­mained, and was joined by a sec­ond bird (1st-14th). Sand­pipers were at Walm­s­ley (23rd). The Hudsonian Whim­brel was at Per­ranuth­noe (1st-8th). There was a White-tailed Ea­gle at St Austell (6th). A Black Kite flew over Goon­hilly (16th). A Red-footed Falcon was at The Lizard (22nd-23rd). Ospreys were noted on pas­sage (6th-14th). A Lit­tle Gull was on Hayle (2nd-7th), with a Ring-billed Gull there (1st-6th) and Glau­cous Gull (12th-15th). A pos­si­ble Azorean Gull was at Sen­nen (23rd). Ice­land Gulls were wide­spread. A Short-eared Owl was at Porthg­warra (2nd). An­other, plus a Long-eared Owl was at Trevose (9th). Hoopoes were at the Lizard (8th) and Heli­gan (9th). Wry­necks were at Nan­jizal (9th) and Lizard Point (23rd). Wood­chat Shrikes were at sev­eral sites (1st-27th). Hooded Crows were at Sen­nen (14th) and Lizard Point (18th). Red-rumped Swal­lows were at Pen­berth (9th) and Nan­jizal (23rd). Eight Wa­ter Pip­its were at Walm­s­ley (2nd). Yel­low-browed War­blers lin­gered at Fal­mouth (to 14th). A West­ern Subalpine War­bler was at Land’s End (23rd-24th). Ring Ouzels in­cluded 27 be­tween Nan­quidno and Cot (18th). La­p­land Buntings were at Trevose (8th) and East Pen­tire (17th). Serins flew through Nan­jizal (5th) and Rame Head (30th). Two Lit­tle Buntings were around Goss Moor all month.
