EAST SUSSEX: A male Blue Rock Thrush was at Beachy Head (6th), thought to be the same one that wintered in Gloucester­shire. Two Cattle Egrets were around Litlington (1st-15th). A Great White Egret was at Splash Point (23rd). A female Bluethroat was briefly at Cuckmere Haven (25th). A Kentish Plover was at Tide Mills (26th). A Red-rumped Swallow was at Arlington Reservoir (27th-28th). A Wryneck was at Bexhill (27th). A Crane went over Bewl Water (27th). A Black Kite was over Ashdown Forest (27th). A Wryneck was at Eastbourne (30th), plus two Little Terns.

WEST SUSSEX: A Tawny Pipit was at Pagham Harbour LNR (26th). An Alpine Swift was over Littlehamp­ton (12th). A Black Kite was over Petworth (14th). A Purple Heron was around Medmerry RSPB and Pagham Harbour (20th-22nd). A White-spotted Bluethroat showed well at Wood Mills NR (20th). A Hoopoe was at Church Norton (21st-22nd). A Spotted Crake was briefly at Fulking (23rd). Two Black-winged Stilts were at Shoreham-by-sea (24th). A Cattle Egret was at Pagham Harbour LNR (24th).
