Stornoway to Calanais Visitor Centre is approximately 30 minutes and from Tarbert in Harris, about 40 miles and an hour’s drive following the A859 north turning onto the A858 WHERE TO PARK: This is a road trip. There is a car park at the broch but most of the views will be from your car or bike, stopping where it is safe to do so TERRAIN: There is a hard path to view the broch. After that it is viewing from the side of the road ACCESSIBILITY: Open all year round except for two weeks in December FACILITIES: Callanish or Stornoway PUBLIC TRANSPORT: There is a bus service running along the main roads.
