Stornoway to Calanais Visitor Centre is approximat­ely 30 minutes and from Tarbert in Harris, about 40 miles and an hour’s drive following the A859 north turning onto the A858 WHERE TO PARK: This is a road trip. There is a car park at the broch but most of the views will be from your car or bike, stopping where it is safe to do so TERRAIN: There is a hard path to view the broch. After that it is viewing from the side of the road ACCESSIBIL­ITY: Open all year round except for two weeks in December FACILITIES: Callanish or Stornoway PUBLIC TRANSPORT: There is a bus service running along the main roads.
