-

1 Surrounding fields hold good numbers of Linnets, Meadow Pipits, Sky Larks, Lapwings and Kestrels. Chance of hunting Peregrine and Merlin in winter. Look out for finch and thrush flocks during hard weather.

2 The pools and lakeside are favoured by dabbling ducks, with Wigeon predominating, being joined by Pintail, Shoveler, Mallard, Teal, Tufted Duck and maybe Garganey. Large numbers of Greylag Geese may attract a White-fronted Goose or two during winter and the occasional Ruff, while Egyptian Geese have also been recorded. Look out for passage waders in spring and autumn and a chance of a visiting Mediterranean or Little Gull. Red-necked Grebe and Red-crested Pochard have also been recorded.

3 Along the River Avon, look for Kingfisher, Little Egret, Grey Heron, Swallow, Sand and House Martins and passage terns in season.
