My plants are a magnet for birds
I have up to 25 different dwarf pines and firs in my garden, which are up to 3ft in diameter. These attract Goldcrests and at least one visits my garden every day – it disappears inside the conifers searching for small spiders and insects over winter. Therefore, it is good advice for keen birdwatchers to have these alpines in their gardens which are very low maintenance and can attract these really beautiful birds, as you can see from the photo.
