HIGHLIGHTS: Pinkfeet were at Drift/sancreed (27th-31st) and Lostwithie­l (30th-31st). A Ring-necked Duck was on Dozmary Pool (1st-16th). The Lesser Scaup remained at Dozmary. Two Surf Scoters were off Porthpean (1st-31st). Cattle Egrets were reported in small numbers all month, including 14 at Frenchman’s Creek (23rd). Last month’s Glossy Ibis remained around Kingsmill Lake. Great White Egrets were at St Erth (1st) and Walmsley (15th). Spoonbills were at Hayle (1st-31st), and Walmsley and The Camel (19th-31st), with three on the Tamar all month. A Pacific Diver was in Mount’s Bay (1st-16th), with another off Pendower (2nd-4th). An American Golden Plover was on Hayle (1st-19th). Ring-billed Gulls were on Hayle (1st-12th) and at Trethewey (2nd). An Iceland Gull was around Coverack all month. Another was at several sites in the far west (14th-27th) before settling at Newlyn (28th-31st). Caspian Gulls were at Hayle (9th-16th), Mount’s Bay (17th), Church Cove (27th) and Dozmary (28th). Glaucous Gulls visited Gillan (15th), St Ives (18th), Allet Common (21st) and Newlyn (27th-31st). A Sandwich Tern was off Torpoint (22nd). A Snowy Owl was at Carn Brea (12th) and Carn Gloose (18th). A few Short-eared Owls were noted countywide, with a Long-eared Owl at Walmsley (1st). Yellow-browed Warblers were present in small numbers all month. Late Swallows were at Hannafore (3rd-4th) and Crowlas (9th). A Rose-coloured Starling was at Mullion Cove (4th). A Red-breasted Flycatcher was at Skewjack (1st). A late Yellow Wagtail was

at Porthgwarr­a (5th). A few Water Pipits and Hawfinches were noted countywide. Six Lapland Buntings were at Madron (9th), with one at Caerthilli­an Cove (18th). Little Buntings were at Nanjizal all month and on the Lizard (2nd). A Snow Bunting was on The Lizard (2nd).
