SWARVOVSKI NL PURE
If you thought the electronic dG monocular (reviewed overleaf) was the big product news from Swarovski, think again. The NL Pure range of binoculars has just been unveiled, promising “a huge, revolutionary field of view combined with groundbreaking design”.
They boast a field of view of 159m@1,000m, a new housing designed to provide comfort and greater stability when using the higher magnification models (they can even be fitted with a forehead rest), and the sort of sharpness and colour fidelity we’ve come to expect from Swarovski.
The accessories also have a focus on sustainability. The newly designed bag, cleaning set, and packaging are made exclusively from recycled fabrics and natural materials.
The current EL range will remain available.
Prices start at £2,370. From 1 September, 8x42, 10x42 and 12x42 models will be available from swarovskioptik.com and selected retailers.
HAWKE FRONTIER APO
Hawke also have new binoculars in the pipeline, with the imminent release of their new flagship Frontier APO range (there will be 8x42 and 10x42 models available, initially).
With their ED glass, they promise highquality wide-angle images, with light transmission maximised, flat field vision, excellent colour reproduction, and absolutely minimal chromatic aberration, and close focus is quoted as an impressive 2m.
Look out for a full review in Bird Watching very soon.
Prices start at £ 629, and more information is available at uk.hawkeoptics.com
