ELAN VALLEY: Woodcocks were at Dolymynach, Cwm Coel (four), Caban Lakeside (three), Glannau (four) and Penbont. A Hen Harrier was at Pont ar Elan. Four Teal were on Claerwen. Six Bramblings were at Caban Lakeside and four at Penbont. Gwaelod held 60 Siskins, five Great Spotted Woodpecker­s and 14 Crossbills. Eight Goosanders and six Cormorants were on Penygarreg. Cwm Clyd held 240 Fieldfares, 40 Redwings, a Kestrel and Peregrine. Craig Goch had a Merlin, Short-eared Owl, Cormorant, Reed Bunting and Jack Snipe.

WYE VALLEY: Little Egrets were at Builth Road, Erwood (two), Llowes (four) and Bronydd (two). Twenty Goosanders and 12 Mandarins were at Erwood. Glasbury had 60 Fieldfares, 45 Lesser Redpolls, two Kingfisher­s, two Great White Egrets, 14 Lapwings, 42 Snipe, 80 Teal, a Chiffchaff and two Blackcaps. Pwll Patti held seven Little Egrets, four Herons, 90 Wigeon and three Bullfinche­s. The Bronydd/Clyro Mute Swan count peaked at 206. Dippers were at Brynwern Bridge, Llanstepha­n and Rhayader. Six Snipe and two Willow Tits were at Cors y Llyn.

OTHER SITES: Water Rails were at Newbridge Bog, Pentrosfa, Pencerrig Lake and Downton. Llyn Heilyn held a Tufted Duck, 39 Wigeon, nine Goosanders, a Kestrel, seven Teal, a Little Grebe, seven Mute Swans and a Heron. Llanbwchll­yn had a Water Rail, four Cormorants, seven Bullfinche­s, a Great Crested Grebe, Tufted Duck, Marsh Tit and three Buzzards. Llandrindo­d Lake held three Water Rails, 17 Goosanders, three Reed Buntings, a Kingfisher, 12 Mute Swan, three Cormorants and two Marsh Tits.

St Harmon had 60 Herring Gulls and two Tree Sparrows. Great Grey Shrikes remained at Bwlch y Sarnau, Abbeycwmhi­r and Llanbedr Hill. Radnor Forest held 40 Crossbills, six Willow Tits and six Woodcocks. A Short-eared Owl, two Merlins and six Teal were at Llanwefr Pool. Ninety Snipe and six Jack Snipe were at Rhiw Bottom. Rhosgoch held a Great White Egret, 30 Redpolls, six Curlews, 12 Lapwings, 70 Snipe, five Jack Snipe, 30 Teal, a Long-eared Owl and nine Reed Buntings.
