As a result, the specially designed mixes attract more garden birds, hedgehogs, and other wildlife to your garden and outdoor spaces.
Sustainability is always at the core of what we do, which is why here at Cotswold Granaries, we use 100% home-compostable packaging, either starch and plant fibre or plain old paper! As a result, our robust and easily resealable bags offer a natural waste-free alternative to plastic. Before this new packaging technology was available, we used traditional jute bags with biodegradable cellulose linings as our wild animal food packaging – never plastic!
Single-use plastic packaging accounts for an estimated 40% of all plastic produced in the world today. According to Defra, more than half, or 51 million tonnes, of recyclable waste ends up in landfills or is destroyed in the UK. With stats like these everywhere and seemingly getting worse each year, the focus needs to turn to solutions for these mounting waste problems. We need to see more home-compostable zero-waste packaging alternatives.

Cotswold Granaries wild animal food uses only natural ingredients, carefully selected to provide a nutritionally dense and energy-rich feed. As a result, you’ll be keeping our native and visiting garden birds, squirrels, hedgehogs, ducks and swans well-fed all year.
Our new food range includes three varieties of bird food, No Wheat Mix, No Mess Mix and Sunflower Hearts. These mixes contain no wheat, added sugar or artificial colours. Remember, it’s essential not to settle for ‘cheep’ bird food! The other three varieties to be released in our new range are the Hedgehog food, Duck and Swan food, and Squirrel food.
The whole of the new food range is in our latest packaging, which is fully home-compostable and resealable. Even the resealable zipper, labels and clear window, made from starch and plant fibres, are compostable! Zero plastic, zero waste, zero consumer guilt.
