Days of two-party system have gone
DEAR Editor, Since the EU referendum the political parties have been in turmoil.
Now, the Conservative and Unionist (that’s the new Prime Minister’s emphasis) Party has at least got its act together and united for the good of the country.
In contrast, the so-called Labour Party is in complete disarray.
Irrespective of how you voted in the referendum, it was a democratic decision and should be honoured.
And as regards complaints that the Welsh will now miss out on EU grants, let’s remember that those grants were the result of negotiations and money contributed by the UK.
The Welsh and Scottish contributions are far less than that of England because of geography and the likes.
We must now all pull together for a great future for this great nation – and that means all four countries.
Common sense tells us that the days of the two-party system have long gone. What is now required is a coalition with good men and women from all sides.
Having been a member of the Labour Party since the Thirties, when Labour meant representation for the manual worker, I have watched as the party has been on a downwards spiral which started with the election of Harold Wilson as leader. Dave Pithie, Shard End,
