Finding inspiration in business

- Fionnuala Bourke Commercial Editor

INSPIRATIONAL Magazine editor Sophia Hayes has revealed that backing the Birmingham Post Business Awards 2016 was an intuitive step for her publication, which regularly showcases West Midlands businesses.

She said the luxury lifestyle publication, which is distributed to thousands of households across the region and a host of hospitality destinations, is excited to attend the ceremony which honours the dynamic range of businesses in the city.

“As a proud West Midlands publication, we work with a range of local businesses and cover them within our magazine so it felt natural for us to get behind the Birmingham Post Business Awards,” she said.

“Showcasing companies in the West Midlands is one of the central aims of our magazine and it is fantastic for us to support an event that recognises the region’s brightest businesses.

“We are very much looking forward to the event itself and honouring the brilliantly diverse range of businesses that call Birmingham their home.”

The Birmingham Post Business Awards celebrates businesses across all sectors, both large and small. We asked Sophia to discuss her outlook within her own industry.

“Though a lot of magazines and newspapers are moving online more and more, we have found that people still lovelo e print titles and they still have a strong impact in the media world,” she said.

“Our magazine works in a different way to many – we distribute each new edition to a targeted database, but many copies are available to flick through in a range of hospitality destinations.

“Since our launch in 2012, we have prided ourselves on filling our pages with exciting news and features covering a range of topics including sport, celebrities and business.

“The Birmingham Post Business Awards will certainly be one of the events covered in our social pages so you will be able to see all the pictures from the night in our next edition.

“We have recently launched a sister magazine in the nation’s capital, Inspirational London.

“The first edition came out in May, which we were delighted with.

“Now it’s all hands on deck as we get ready to release the second in November. Meanwhile, in the West Midlands, our magazine continues to go from strength to strength so things are going very well at the moment. The whole team really believes that it is so important that we give back to the local community by supporting events like the Birmingham Post Business Awards so it really is a pleasure to sponsor this prestigious ceremony.”
