Adomah is ninth signing of busy summer for Villa
ILLA have confirmed the signing of Albert Adomah from Middlesbrough on a four- year contract.
ThThThThThe club offifficially announced the 28- year- old winger’s switch hours after owner Tony Xia had tweeted a picture of him in claret and blue kit.
It continued a busy transfer deadline day of negotiations between the clubs after Adama Traore completed a move from Villa to Teesside.
Adomah becomes Villa’s ninth summer signing. He joins Tommy Elphick, Pierluigi Gollini, Aaron Tshibola, Ross McCormack, James Chester, Mile Jedinak, Ritchie De Laet and Jonathan Kodjia in Roberto Di Matteo’s remodelled squad.
Adomah starred for Boro during their Championship promotion campaign and fifits the bill for the type of player Villa have been targeting this summer.
Di Matteo was delighted to have added the 28- year- old to his squad.
“Albert is a player I’m really happy to have brought to the club and like others he knows what is required to win promotion from the Championship,” he said.
“He is an attacking player who creates goals and I’m confififififident he will be an impressive addition to the group.”
Twenty- year- old Spanish winger Traore has penned a four- year contract with Boro after they agreed an undisclosed fee with Villa.
He only joined Villa on a fifififiveyear deal last summer from Barcelona, for around £7 million, but

“He is another important player and I am expecting a lot from him,” said Boro boss Aitor Karanka.
“I’ve known him since he was a kid. He went into the national team just after left, but I know all about him and what he can do.
“His level is higher than he showed last season, but in the right environment I’m hoping he will show what he is capable of.”
Traore only made 11 appearances for Villa last season – ten as substitute in the Premier League – and scored once.
At Barcelona, he played more than 60 games for Barcelona in the Spanish second tier and scored eight goals.
ASTON Villa could again set a new Championship transfer record with the signing of Bristol City striker Jonathan Kodjia.
ThThThThThThThThe 26-year- old Ivory Coast international has joined Villa in an £11 million deal that could rise to £15 million.
If the add-ons take the transfer to £ 15 million that would be the highest fee a second- tier club has paid for a player.
Currently the £12 million – potentially rising to £14 million – Villa paid Fulham to secure Ross McCormack in early August is the highest.
Kodjia, who has agreed a fouryear contract, scored 20 goals in 48 appearances in all competitions last season for the Robins in what was his debut campaign in England.
