Kodjia is best forward in the league, says Adomah

-

JONATHAN Kodjia’s teammates believe they are playing with the most talented striker in the division after his deadly double saved Aston Villa once again.

The 27-year-old took his tally to six for the season with a brace of goals in the 2-1 win against Blackburn last Saturday.

Kodjia, signed for a potential record-breaking Championship transfer fee of £14 million, looks worth every penny right now and his Villa pals are delighted to have him on their side.

“I am biased but, for me, he is the best in the league,” said fellow forward Albert Adomah. “He has got one of the highest price tags of the players here.

“But he is doing his job as though there is no price tag on him – that’s good for him because he is grounded and humble. At the moment everything is going well for him and he just has to keep it up.”

Adomah reckons the sky’s the limit for the Ivory Coast international.

“I hope he scores 20 goals and we get promotion,” he added. “He did it at Bristol City and at that time he was worth less than he is now.

“He is still scoring goals and that’s what you need as a striker. He’s doing his job and that’s good for the team – he just has to keep on scoring.

“If he scores 20 goals and we get promoted, then great.”

Kodjia is the main man right now but Villa’s other big-money arrivals will soon start to shine through, Adomah believes.

“There is more to come from every player, not just him,’’ he added. “At the moment we are talking about him but there is more to come from every one.”
