Three more stores set for Longbridge

-

TWO more high street names and an independent have signed up to the regeneration of Longbridge.

Specsavers and Carphone Warehouse will join local independent bike shop 3CJ Cycle Centre in the new Longbridge town centre which is being built by St Modwen.

Specsavers is taking 1,550 sq ft of space at a rent of £45,000 per annum while Carphone Warehouse is taking 775 sq ft at £23,500 per year. Both stores have signed ten-year leases and are creating dozens of new full- and part-time jobs.

3CJ Cycle Centre, which signed a ten-year lease at £17,000 per year, is now open, joining existing occupiers including Sainsbury’s, Costa Coffee and Smyths Toys among others.

Mike Murray, development director at St Modwen, said: “Specsavers, Carphone Warehouse and 3CJ Cycle Centre add to the already strong and varied mix of retailers in Longbridge town centre, helping to attract new visitors, shoppers and jobs to the area.

“Representing the growing demand for services in the area, 3CJ Cycle Centre is already open, and proving to be a success, while the fit-out is well under way on the new Specsavers and Carphone Warehouse stores, which will be open in time for Christmas.”

St Modwen is carrying out a long-running, £1 billion regeneration of Longbridge following the collapse of MG Rover in 2005.
