Sudden death of teacher stuns school community Popular assistant head was an ‘inspiring and fun’ colleague

TRIBUTES have poured in for an “outstandin­g” Walsall teacher who has died sudden- ly.

Cheran Brach, assistant head and DT and Art coordinato­r at Hydesville Tower School, was described as a “beloved friend, colleague, friend and teacher”.

Her school confirmed the news of the teacher’s death last Friday, and said it would be supporting devastated pupils as much as possible.

A statement released by Hydesville said: “It is with great sorrow and regret that we write this post. The devastatin­g news about the sad loss of Miss Brach, our beloved friend, colleague, friend and teacher came as a great shock to us all.

“Miss Brach was an outstandin­g teacher who was much loved by her pupils and we will miss the sense of fun and inspiratio­n that she brought to her teaching. We have been so proud of all of our pupils, who have dealt with the news in a mature and compassion­ate manner.

“Over the next few days and coming weeks our children will no doubt experience a range of emotions. We would like to reassure parents that as a school we will provide support to enable them to deal with this loss.

“We have all spent time sharing prayers, feelings and memories of Miss Brach and we’ve all supported each other during this sad time.”

A book of condolence has been set up at the school for the pupils and their families to leave their own tributes and messages.

Friends, colleagues and pupils past and present reacting to the tragic news on social media.

Angela Cooke wrote: “So sorry to hear this sad news condolence­s to her family and friends.”

Kerryanne Tonks added: “My heart goes out to Miss Brach’s family during this incredibly sad time.

“She will be thoroughly missed and the children will treasure the memories they have of her always.”

the popular teacher, writing: “Such a beautiful soul, prayers and condolence­s to the family,...a wonderful teacher that will be greatly missed.”

Jaspinder Bhandal Gill added: “So sad she was such a lovely young lady all her pupils loved her she will be missed.”

And Rita Patel wrote: “She was a lovely teacher and my contact lens patient, will be missed dearly by Kylan. RIP Miss Brach.”
