Accountancy firm steps up to back big race days

-

PKF Cooper Parry is to become title sponsor of the Simplyhealth Great Birmingham Run and Great Birmingham 10K Business Challenge events.

The Edgbaston accountancy practice will sponsor this year’s two Business Challenge events, which invite companies from across the Midlands to compete and become the fastest teams.

The PKF Cooper Parry Business Challenge is open to small, medium and large businesses in the Great Birmingham 10K on Sunday, April 30, and the Great Birmingham Run half marathon on Sunday, October 15 – the same day as the inaugural Birmingham International Marathon.

Trophies are handed out to winning businesses and any company that enters 12 or more employees will receive an engraved plaque in the name of the fastest runner in the team.

The four fastest collective times by participants are added up for each team to pick the overall winners.

Over 60 teams took part in last year’s Great Birmingham Run and 10K Business Challenges, from a variety of business sectors and sizes across the Midlands.

Ade Cheatham, PKF Cooper Parry Chief Executive, said: “It is important for us to support events like this and give something back to the community in which we live and work.

“Two of our core values are ‘have fun’ and ‘be generous’, which fits perfectly with these events and we see this as a great opportunity for businesses to engage with each other, get fit and raise much-needed funds for local causes.”
