Roads need repairs now – not later

DEAR Editor, I totally agree with the letter last week regarding the state of our local roads. On regular runs I am now used to doing delicate weaving to try and avoid as many holes and ruts as possible.

Some of these are quite deep and long and must be causing wear and tear to our vehicles.

One road in my area has a worrying scoop which will collapse at some point.

Whatever is preventing the maintenance needs to be addressed quickly. The longer it is neglected the more painstaking and costly it will be to put right
