Nine new engineering jobs as consultancy expands
A CONSULTANCY has expanded its operations in Birmingham and created engineering roles by launching a new division.
Phil Jones Associates, an independent agency which specialises in transport planning, has created PJA Engineering to focus on land development engineering design and delivery.
It will offer services such as infrastructure design, geo-environmental and geotechnical engineering and flood risk assessments on commercial and residential development projects nationwide.
The expansion of the firm’s operation has initially created nine new engineering roles while recruitment is under way for additional team members.
As part of the expansion, the consultancy has appointed sector spe- cialists Mike Poland, Chris Johnson and Becky Lowe to lead the new division while Dan McCrudden and Jenny Mullen have also been appointed as technical leads.
Company founder and managing director Phil Jones said: “PJA Engineering is the realisation of our aspi- ration to offer a broader engineering service, following countless requests we have received from our clients to take their sites through detailed design and delivery.
“I am incredibly excited to launch this new venture, with a team of well-known and respected engi- neers, allowing us to support our clients in a more comprehensive way by seeing projects through from initial concept to delivery.
“With nine new roles already created in the Birmingham office and a further recruitment drive under way, the company is experiencing yet another period of growth as we embark on this latest evolution of the business – 2017 is already shaping up to be another busy and exciting year.”
Both PJA and PJA Engineering are based at Seven House in Longbridge along with the company’s specialist traffic modelling subsidiary Multimodal.
With the launch of the new business, 40 members of staff will be working in the Birmingham office by May, under a phased recruitment process.
