Barry: Harry is the perfect man for Blues

-

FORMER Birmingham City boss Barry Fry reckons Harry Redknapp is the perfect man – for both club and country.

The current Peterborough director of football suggested his former club have done outstandingly well bringing in Redknapp.

And he backed the 70-year-old to not only keep them up this season – but have them challenging at the right end of the table if he stays in charge next term.

And he reckons Redknapp will see the room for growth at St Andrew’s and stay on.

“In my opinion Harry should be the England manager let alone Birmingham City manager. If anyone can get them out of trouble then Harry is the man,” Fry said.

“You can see at all the clubs he has been at he gets the best out of players. He listens to players, they like him, they want to do their best for him.

“I think the appointment will have lifted the Bluenoses, the ones I know were getting really, really worried but they have someone they can believe in now.

“Blues are in a terrible situation, they need someone to work a miracle, to get them to win one of the last two games – and Harry is the man to do that.

“They are both difficult games, Huddersfield are a surprise team and they way they play their football it will be very difficult.

“Bristol City have struggled even though they have made a big investment in the ground, it’s been a disappointing season for them.

“I am sure if anybody knows what it takes to get something at Bristol City it will be [assistant manager] Steve Cotterill.

“I think he will keep them up.”
