Ambulance sent to home 500 times

AN ambulance was called to one Birmingham address almost 500 times in just one year.

New figures have revealed a patient was taken to hospital 89 times from the unnamed Edgbaston property by West Midlands Ambulance staff.

A Freedom of Informatio­n request showed there were 492 calls to either 999 or 101 from the home in 2016.

The full address has not been revealed, but it is believed to be in the Edgbaston area between Hagley Road and Edgbaston reservoir.

A property in Alcester, in Warwickshi­re, received the most in callouts in 2015 with 241 registered.

Three of the top ten addresses for ambulance callouts in 2016 came from Wolverhamp­ton, accounting for 660 calls between them.

Another three addresses – in West Bromwich, Walsall and Telford – were responsibl­e for a combined 442 calls between them.
