ANEW £14 million office development in Birmingham’s business district has secured its first three tenants as renovation of the building nears completion.

Cornerblock, on the corner of Cornwall Street and Livery Street, is being regenerated by property group Bruntwood to have 110,000 sq ft of grade A office space and a private roof terrace.

Design, engineering and consultancy firm Arcadis has taken 22,953 sq ft across the first and second floors.

Specialist insurance company Beazley will take the 11,787 sq ft eighth floor and Finance 4 Business has secured a 4,510 sq ft office suite on the ninth floor in addition to some private roof terrace space.

Rob Valentine, director of Bruntwood in Birmingham, said: “Com- pleting Cornerblock with such high-calibre customers, together with a strong pipeline of interest, is a reflection of both the quality and great location of the development.

“We are delighted the reaction has been so positive and to open the doors with 36 per cent of the building already let and 35 per cent in solicitors’ hands is very exciting.

“We are looking forward to seeing our customer community grow.”

The nine-storey building at Two Cornwall Street was previously known as Peat House.

Previous owner West Register, the property arm of Royal Bank of Scotland, had planned to demolish it and build a 13-storey office block in its place.

But West Register eventually sold the block was sold to Bruntwood in 2014.

The redeveloped building has a cycle hub and gym. also
