Rebrand for popular bar

-

A BIRMINGHAM city centre bar has closed to undergo a revamp and rebrand.

Après, in Summer Row, which is popular with pub-goers keen to watch live sport, will relaunch as The Texan Sports Cafe Bar.

Details about the new venture are limited but it is likely to continue being a magnet for sports fans.

The closure of Après follows the end of sister bars in Sutton Coldfield, Lichfield and Cheltenham.

The group, which also included Mechu and Fleet Street Kitchen in Summer Row, was owned by Town and Country Inns.

The company fell into administration late last year, citing the ongoing roadworks attached to the £500 million Paradise project nearby among the chief causes.

The bars were then sold to FSK Group which has since closed Mechu, renovated the unit and reopened its as M Bar.
