A BID is a defined geographical area within which local businesses collaborate to invest in projects, services and initiatives that improve the environment in which they work. BIDs deliver additional services to those provided by local authority and the police.

Colmore BID was established in 2009 to deliver improvement projects and services to the business quarter. More than 550 businesses contribute to the BID and it arranges the annual Colmore Food Festival, visited by more than 30,000 people. The BID worked in partnership with the city council to create Church Street Square, a new place to stop and relax in a previously under-used space.

The Colmore BID board is chaired by Gary Cardin, of CBRE, and is made up of 20 influential private and public sector roles based in the Business District.

Gary Cardin, chair of Colmore BID, said: “I am delighted that we have such a high calibre of new board directors as we move closer to the renewal process for BID3, which will be during autumn this year. With the excellent knowl- edge, experience and network of contacts which each of the new directors bring, they will all add tremendous value to the Colmore BID board.”
