Nsue sorry he couldn’t give more for team

-

EMILIO Nsue has sent a heart-felt parting message to the Blues fans after completing his move to Apoel FC.

The defender brought the curtain down on his 355-day St Andrew’s career by signing a two-and-a-halfyear deal with the Cypriot champions on Monday.

It also brought to an end a difficult year, lit up by last season’s relegation dodge in an otherwise tortuous 2017.

Nsue, who played 37 times for the club, insisted he always gave 100 per cent in the Royal Blue – but apologised for not finding his best form.

He wrote on Instagram: “Just I can say to all the Blues supporters, team mates and the club thanks for all your support this year that I’ve been here.

“It has been a difficult year for everyone for many reasons but this is football, sometimes you enjoy others you only get disappointed.

“I tried my best always but I know that I didn’t play like I would have like [to have] played, sorry for that. I wish you all the Blues all the best and I hope that very soon you can come back where you deserve to be, many thanks Blues KRO.”

The 28-year-old arrived from Middlesbrough last January as part of Gianfranco Zola’s overhaul of Gary Rowett’s squad. Blues have also parted ways with young striker David Popa after both parties agreed to terminate his contract.

The 20-year-old’s deal had been due to expire at the end of June. This season he has made just one appearance off the substitute’s bench for the development squad.

He becomes the latest player to leave the club with Nsue and David Cotterill having departed from the senior team. Ronan Hale has also gone out on loan for the rest of the season.
