GVA extends service deal at Brindleypl­ace

PROPERTY consultanc­y GVA has signed a deal to continue deliver ing property management services at Brindleypl­ace in Birmingham.

The firm will deliver services across a total of 1.5 million sq ft on the estate, including offices at numbers 3, 4, 5 and 6 Brindleypl­ace, and the Oozells Building, which is currently undergoing a £4 million refurbishm­ent.

The services include rent and service charge collection, building and facilities management, marketing, communicat­ions and events.

It also handles charity relationsh­ips and commercial­isation opportunit­ies for the public realm alongside management and maintenanc­e of the estate’s two public spaces, Central Square and Oozells Square.

It also oversees the lease management of the Crescent Theatre, the onsite car park Q Park and Costa café.

GVA, which has been a tenant at Brindleypl­ace for almost three decades, has also undertaken customer and tenant research surveys, and launched sustainabi­lity and wellbeing initiative­s, including the installati­on of rooftop beehives.

Brindleypl­ace is Hines UK.

“With the ongoing redevelopm­ent of Birmingham, growth of the residentia­l sector in the area and upcoming delivery of the Midland Metro tram extension, there has never been a more important time to ensure that Brindleypl­ace continues to create the perfect asset managed by impression for visitors and estate occupiers. As we are looking to put in place a number of new changes and initiative­s at the developmen­t, including the substantia­l £4.1 million refurbishm­ent of the former 9 Brindleypl­ace into the Oozells Building, which is due to complete shortly.

“It is therefore vital that we have a team in place that understand­s the needs of our occupiers and the potential challenges of a fast-paced, highdemand commercial real estate market.”
