Rowdy passengers slammed after plane diverts

-

AIRLINE Jet2 has blasted the “deplorable and aggressive” behaviour of a stag party on a flight from Birmingham to Ibiza.

Crew took the decision to divert the aircraft in “the interests of everyone’s comfort and safety” last Friday after a group of around 15 men reportedly became rowdy on board.

The flight that left Birmingham Air- port had to land in Toulouse where the party were met by French police.

Jet2 say they took the decision to stop serving alcohol on board the flight as one member of the stag party had already been refused boarding at Birmingham Airport.

Other passengers on the flight, that should have taken two and a half hours, are said to have been delayed for almost three hours after the diversion.

A spokesperson for Jet2.com said: “Despite repeated warnings from the crew on our Birmingham to Ibiza flight on Friday, June 22, a number of individuals from the same stag party continued to demonstrate a pattern of appalling and aggressive behaviour. After repeat warnings, the crew took the decision to divert the aircraft in the interests of everyone’s comfort and safety.

“This pattern of extremely aggressive and disruptive behaviour took place in the vicinity of families who were travelling with young children.

“A number of customers have praised our highly-trained crew for their handling of the situation.”
