Chinese are keeping tabs on goal star Dwight

-

ALBION loan star Dwight Gayle is set to be offered a shock exit route out of Newcastle.

Gayle, 27, joined the Baggies for the season last month in a swap deal which saw Salomon Rondon head in the opposite direction.

And Gayle has been in impressive form since finding his feet at The Hawthorns, with a brace against Stoke lifting his tally to three goals and three assists in five Championship appearances.

Now it appears he has caught the eye of clubs in China.

A number of sides are understood to be keeping tabs on Gayle’s performances and could offer him an eye-watering deal worth in the region of £200,000 a week when his spell at Albion comes to an end. The spending of clubs in the Chinese Super League has rocketed in recent years with several players having been plucked from European leagues on massive contracts.

And Gayle could be tempted by a lucrative offer after being allowed to leave Newcastle this season by boss Rafa Benitez.

He scored 23 goals as Newcastle won the Championship in 2017 but failed to find his form in the Premier League, netting just six times last term.

He is under contract at St James’ Park until 2021.

Meanwhile, Albion are being linked with a move for winger Bakary Sako.

The former Wolves ace is on the look-out for a new club having left Crystal Palace this summer after turning down a contract offer.

The Malian international spent three years at Wolves, scoring almost 40 goals in over 120 appearances between 2012 and 2015.

Now he’s being linked with a return to the region where it all began for him in this country.
