- Tamlyn Jones Business Correspondent

HIGH street banking giant NatWest has been unveiled as the headline sponsor of the Birmingham Post’s inaugural West Midlands Tech Awards.

The bank will join hundreds of other members of the West Midlands business community to commemorate the region’s thriving tech sector at the Post’s exciting first ceremony in December.

The awards, which are being run in partnership with the Post’s sister websites BirminghamLive and CoventryLive, will celebrate investors, start-ups, corporations and public sector organisations across 12 different categories.

Sarah Cooper-Jones, who has worked for NatWest for 28 years, and recently took over the role of West Midlands regional director for corporate and commercial, is proud to announce the bank’s sponsorship.

She said: “At NatWest, we are delighted to sponsor the first West Midlands Tech Awards.

“The growing tech sector is of huge importance to us locally and we’re proud to offer thought leadership in this area, through partnerships with our customers and entrepreneurs via the programmes we offer at our Entrepreneurial Hub in Brindleyplace.”

The West Midlands Tech Awards 2018 will showcase those firms, investors and innovators which are driving the region’s thriving tech sector forward and we want to hear about your achievements, whether you’re an established business, a funder backing the next big thing or a pioneer working on new projects.

The awards are open to individu- als and companies based in or connected to Birmingham, Coventry, Warwickshire, the Black Country, Solihull and South Staffordshire.

The deadline for entry is Friday October 26, and the awards ceremony will take place at the ICC, in Birmingham, on December 13.
