Bar labels TripAdvisor reviewer ‘all round idiot’ after beer row

-

A BAR accused a customer of being “an all round idiot” after the drinker took to TripAdvisor to leave a scathing review.

Tilt bar, based in City Arcade, off Union Street, made a Facebook post responding to criticism after a customer visited the bar recently.

The man, who took to TripAdvisor as Trifle2018, gave the bar a one-star rating following the purchase of a sour beer, which clearly was not to his liking.

Tilt bar, which specialises in craft beer and has a range of pinball machines, said staff tried to explain sour beers to him but he wouldn’t listen.

The customer wrote: “Quite the most awful stuff I have been offered as beer.

“Staffed by smug bearded teenagers, this is the worst bar in Birmingham centre and an embarrassment to the city.

“You will regret ordering anything in this place because it’s simply undrinkable rubbish. Avoid. Avoid. Avoid.”

But Tilt bar hit back by responding on Facebook: “Let’s get one thing straight... If you are told this is a sour beer and you order anyway... Don’t think it’s then ok to be rude, confrontational and aggressive to my staff! Much love Nathan, Jesse & Rory for having to deal with this.”

The Facebook post continued: “After receiving the starting to drink approached the bar.

“Obviously not happy with your selection after being told they were sour. And you went instantly on the attack at my staff for no reason.

“It’s perfectly clear you’re intoxicated and when my staff tried to explain again you were rude, aggressive and an all round idiot.”

Kirk Sadler, co-owner of Tilt told the Post that he reacted to the review because he felt it was “so unfair and vindictive.”

He said: “We are a small independently run bar and this kind of unfair and vindictive criticism on TripAdvisor can be damaging.” drinks them, and you
