Accountancy institute names new chairman
THE Chartered Institute of Management Accountants (CIMA) has revealed a new chairman for the region.
John Hindson has been elected as chairman of the CIMA West Midlands Area Board and will serve a two-year term.
Mr Hindson will champion the profession across the West Midlands, including promotion and training to adapt to a digital business world.
Mr Hindson said: “I am delighted to have been elected by my peers as chairman of the West Midlands Board Area. This marks an important milestone for me both at the personal and professional level, especially as we celebrate CIMA’s 100th anniversary this year.
“With so much happening in the world of business, I look forward to helping our members, students and their organisation adapt to this rapid pace of change and embrace the future of finance.”
Mr Hindson has been a CIMA member for more than 35 years and part of the CIMA West Mid- lands Area Board for over 14 years. He is currently head of finance and deputy CEO at the international development charity Build It International, which creates opportunities for young people and their communities through skills training and community building projects in Zambia.
Mr Hindson previously held a number of senior finance roles in manufacturing and engineering companies across a range of industries for both SMEs and multinational organisations.
