Accountanc­y institute names new chairman

THE Chartered Institute of Management Accountant­s (CIMA) has revealed a new chairman for the region.

John Hindson has been elected as chairman of the CIMA West Midlands Area Board and will serve a two-year term.

Mr Hindson will champion the profession across the West Midlands, including promotion and training to adapt to a digital business world.

Mr Hindson said: “I am delighted to have been elected by my peers as chairman of the West Midlands Board Area. This marks an important milestone for me both at the personal and profession­al level, especially as we celebrate CIMA’s 100th anniversar­y this year.

“With so much happening in the world of business, I look forward to helping our members, students and their organisati­on adapt to this rapid pace of change and embrace the future of finance.”

Mr Hindson has been a CIMA member for more than 35 years and part of the CIMA West Mid- lands Area Board for over 14 years. He is currently head of finance and deputy CEO at the internatio­nal developmen­t charity Build It Internatio­nal, which creates opportunit­ies for young people and their communitie­s through skills training and community building projects in Zambia.

Mr Hindson previously held a number of senior finance roles in manufactur­ing and engineerin­g companies across a range of industries for both SMEs and multinatio­nal organisati­ons.
