There’ll be bar dancing when Garcia opens Coyote Ugly

-

COYOTE Ugly actor Adam Garcia is heading to Birmingham for the launch of a new bar.

The Australian, who played Kevin O’Donnell in the 2000 movie inspired by the Western-themed bars, will make a special appearance at the new Coyote Ugly Saloon in Broad Street on Thursday, August 15.

Famous for his strip-tease in the film, Adam will more than likely end up stepping onto the bar once again, say organisers.

Adam’s definitely got the Coyote moves. He’s a trained dancer and singer and, among his many other notable roles on stage and screen, he appeared in the West End musical adaptation of Saturday Night Fever in 1998-199, starring as Tony Manero - the character portrayed by John Travolta in the big screen version.

In addition, Miss Sammy J, who recently re-released the Coyote hit single Can’t Fight the Moonlight, will be appearing at the launch night.

Coyote Ugly Saloons have been around for 26 years since the first of the themed bars was opened in New York in 1993.

The venues, known for Westernstyle barmaids dancing on the bar and a rowdy atmosphere with country and rock music, were later made famous by the 2000 film headlined by Tyra Banks and John Goodman.

The first UK branch of the famous bar opened in Cardiff in December 2016 with further venues launching in Liverpool, Manchester and Swansea.

Steve Lewis, director of Coyote Ugly Saloon in the UK, said: “We are extremely pleased to open our fifth UK venue. The support we have received from the public has been overwhelming.

“Birmingham is such a vibrant city, with an amazing nightlife scene, and we cannot wait to add to it.”

Birmingham’s Coyote Ugly Saloon is creating around 50 jobs including bartenders, bar backs, duty managers, chefs and waiting staff.
