Landmark building hailed as ‘fitting’ new home

-

A PROPERTY services firm is moving its West Midlands operation to a new home in the Black Country.

Fortem, which is headquartered in Hertfordshire, has chosen the Trigate office, in Hagley Road, Oldbury, and has agreed a deal on 4,000 sq ft that will be home to 40 staff.

Launched in 2003 and formerly known as Willmott Dixon Support Services, Fortem provides a specialist property support service for schools, local authorities and commercial properties tailored to keep homes, schools and buildings running smoothly.

It counts Birmingham City Council among its clients.

Lisa Layne, general manager for Fortem, said: “Trigate is a landmark building everyone references due to its striking façade and is a fitting location to manage the next stage of growth for the company.

“The offices are a big step up from our previous space and offer an affordable Midlands base for the team which has a significant business presence in the region servicing mainly public sector contracts.

“We’ve enjoyed working with (Trigate owner) Nurton to secure our new regional hub and have been impressed not only with the flexible space but the flexible approach to business too.”

Nurton Developments bought Trigate in 2009 and has since spent £1.5 million on its refurbishment and is about to embark on a further round of phased investment to create a new reception and communal areas.

David Dyas, asset director for Nurton Developments, said: “Trigate has been extremely active over the past six months, with occupiers Kerry Logistics doubling its space requirement in January, Sky taking over 1,000 sq ft and Osprey Engineering expanding its operations from our serviced Flexibase offices to a more conventional five-year lease.”

JLL and Johnson Fellows act as joint property agencies on Trigate.
