Boris taking the bull by the horns

-

DEAR Editor, I believe that Boris Johnson made the right decision to prorogue parliament.

I think that it needed someone to take the bull by the horns and try and get the impasse concerning Brexit over once and for all.

He is the only party leader who is trying to make this happen. We have had nothing but prevarication and endless discussions for three years without an ending in sight.

I have come to the conclusion that if Boris Johnson came back with a deal tomorrow then MPs would still vote it down. They simply do not want to come out of the European Union despite their protestations that they want a deal and vow to honour the referendum, but they have done everything possible to overturn it. Some Labour MPs are apparently trying to resurrect Theresa May’s deal. These are the very same people who voted three times to reject it.

In regards to the Labour party, Jeremy Corbyn has always been anti-EU and has changed his mind over this issue more times than a chameleon changes colour. For two years he has been baying for a general election and now he is given the opportunity, his excuse is that he wants No Deal off the table before he agrees. He maintains that he does not want to see the country suffer if there was to be a no deal.

This parliament has had its day and is a thorough disgrace. I sincerely hope that when we finally get to have a general election, people will remember those MPs who have gone out of their way to prevent Brexit and vote accordingly.
